Lishan Primary School

荔山小学

Lishan Primary School is a vertical exploration of educational spaces in a high-density urban context. Respecting the site's original topography, the design utilizes terraced volumes to minimize excavation while maximizing views of Nanshan Park. Spatially, it breaks from traditional horizontal layouts by adopting a rational vertical stacking strategy. Teaching and activity zones are flexibly separated by pilotis and connected via vertical atriums, ensuring optimal natural ventilation and daylighting. The ground-level plaza shares civic facilities with the neighborhood, while a centralized traffic hub efficiently separates pedestrians and vehicles, alleviating urban congestion and revitalizing the community.
