Located in rural southern Senegal, this project aims to improve local maternity care. Inspired by traditional dwellings , the design utilizes a 5x5-meter modular grid and three large courtyards to create climate-responsive spaces. Rooted in constructivist logic, the architecture employs local materials like clay bricks and wooden columns. The corrugated metal roof and angled wooden louvers effectively block direct sunlight while ensuring ample natural light. Furthermore, outdoor spaces featuring traditional decorative elements alleviate patient anxiety and encourage communication, achieving a perfect balance between medical functionality and humanistic care.
